Patch 2.0 release on Steam: 16/04/2019

At the moment, I cannot fix this as I am focused on developing Fabrication in my spare time. For updates on that, view the blog link below. The fix is easy, but the mistake is repeated over 629 pages of event code. The bug is not fatal. You will only encounter this bug if you take advantage of it. It is not much of a harm to your gameplay experience.
Patch 2.0 brings huge changes to White Pearl's game balance, and adds new features to the game, making it an easier and better experience for new players with greater depth. Please enjoy the accessibility of the game with these changes.

Stimulating Salve
- HP% restored has been increased from 15%, to 45%.

- Now informs the player that the item is used against all enemies.
- Now plays as one animation on all enemies affected.
- Price of 150G has been added.
* Because these items now has a price attached, it is now available to sell for 50% of the designated price.

* These changes make it less detrimental to use Redlac's "Conjure Sword" skill, which swaps his weapon out for a +50 ATK or +100 ATK increase. However, it is important to note that Redlac's Stave can be equipped to other characters too. Decide how best to use it with these changes!

- Reduces foe's evasion rate and critical hit rate by 100% for 3 actions.

Crafting
New: Reinforcing Shields and Bucklers
A new system has been added to crafting: reinforcement of shields and bucklers.
The system is available once crafting is unlocked.
What does reinforcing my shields mean?
By reinforcing shields and bucklers, you increase their main parameters. However, you are also able to add additional effects to them using Aura Essence.
Walkthrough: Reinforcement of Shields and Bucklers
Interact with the designated NPC to access the new system:
You will have the option to choose either shields or bucklers. For this tutorial, I chose shields.
Choose the shield you wish to infuse. For this tutorial, I chose to infuse an Iron Shield. Which shield you choose to infuse Aura with, will matter - as different shields will be made regardless of what Aura you choose to infuse an Iron-Laced Leather Shield with, for example.
* In the event that more shields and bucklers are added in White Pearl that are not obtainable with this new system, the list you see in the screen-shot will be updated in-game - but not on the patch notes.
For the final step, you choose what to infuse the selected shield with - being either Fire or Ice Aura Essence. You can also obtain Fire and Ice Aura Essence using the new trading system which is described later on in these patch notes.
A final confirmation will be given to you before you decide to craft the new shield. Mix and match various combinations to create new types of shields and bucklers!
It is important to note that it will cost Gold to use this system.
* In the event that the cost is increased for this new system, the information you see in the screen-shot will be updated in-game - but not on the patch notes.
* Many new shields and bucklers will be added with this new system. Details on these and how to obtain is included in the patch notes. Please use the search function (Ctrl+F, "new shields have been added" or "new bucklers have been added") to find the information.
Trading
New: Trading Aura Essence
A new system has been added to trading: exchanging certain Aura Essence for Aura Essence - Fire and Ice.
The system is available once crafting is unlocked, and is intended for use in conjunction with the newly added crafting feature.
* The potion master does not have to be unlocked for this system to be available.
Note: With the addition of the Harvest Festival as of Patch 1.0.8 on Steam, you are able to buy/sell Aura Essence with the Item Shop cashier.
* The Harvest Festival is unlocked once Chapter 11 begins. You will be notified when this event is underway in-game.
In the event you would like to sell Aura Essence, or buy Aura Essence, you may do so through that NPC. However, with the addition of this new trading system, changes have been made to the shop inventory of that cashier. These changes are detailed on "Other Changes", under "Existing Events".

Begin by selecting the option to begin the trade.
Like potion trading, the trading of Aura Essence will carry out in similar manner.
Because this system is intended for use in conjunction with the new crafting system extension, the option to obtain only "Aura Essence - Fire" and "Aura Essence - Ice" will be available.
Then choose the Aura Essence that you would like to offer in return for either "Aura Essence - Fire" or "Aura Essence - Ice".
Then complete the trade.

Patch 2.0 - Part 2 Notes

Patch 2.0 Part 2 of White Pearl will be released sometime after the next game, Fabrication. The following is a list of planned features. None of the content is developed and is wholly tentative. Some content may be cut or subject to cancellation.
UPDATE at 27/10/2020: Since development of Fabrication is soon to reach a conclusion, I will be cancelling the content planned for Patch 2.0 Part 2 - this includes the following features:
- New scenario: "The Tale of Rebirth"
- Save file compatibility with Fabrication
These features have been cancelled, because I am focusing my efforts on Fabrication.
Patch 2.0 - Part 2 Planned Features (for developer reference only):
- New scenario: "The Tale of Rebirth", will be added, based on the official story written by Harry Gill. The official story will be released on the Chronicle Edition DLC on the Patch 2.0 Part 2 update. This story will not contain any important information integral to the story of White Pearl, but will instead act as a "book-end" for a certain character.
- This scenario will be available from the main ending area menu. Please ensure you have a save file in this area.
- New movie: "After the Journey", will be added. This movie is the YouTube video uploaded by Harry Gill in celebration of White Pearl reaching over 20,000 downloads across all distributed platforms. (PC Windows Only, available on Steam, rpgmaker [dot] net and Itch [dot] io. The downloads of the discontinued release on GameJolt is also included).
As of 10/10/2019, this movie has been implemented within the game.
- This movie will be played after the credits screen of White Pearl and, as such, cannot be viewed without defeating the final boss again. If you would like to watch it, please watch the video on YouTube:
- New feature: save file compatibility with Fabrication. If you have a save file available to load in the main ending area, you can mark a new save file as "Cleared". Marking a save file as "Cleared" will allow Fabrication to process a check in these files, which will provide you with new items when the game starts. If you have a save file available in the alternate ending area of White Pearl - and you use the new "mark new save file as clear" option there, you will get an exclusive achievement in Fabrication for completing the alternative ending of White Pearl - as it ties in directly with the game's story.
Patch 2.0.5 Notes

Fixed a bug where the following armors were unassigned an armor type:
- Protector of Flame
- Protector of Life
- Buckler of Defense
- Buckler of Will
* If you have previously obtained the items before the patch, they are now equippable to characters who can use bucklers.
- Renamed Crafting Reinforcement name plate.
- Removed Spiked Shield from available reinforcement options.
25/04/2019
- The new states added with Patch 2.0 - Poison, Blind and Silence resistance, granted from certain items, were previously unassigned an icon - rendering them untrackable to players unless they view the battle log. This has been fixed by assigning an icon to the states.
- An issue wherein Redlac was given the "Double Trouble" trait as of Patch 2.0, but he did not get an additional attack. This has been fixed.
- Several cutscenes occuring in Valen that were affected by the pinned bug regarding the cutscene prompt appearing at wrong intervals was partially fixed.
* This bug is not fatal unless you decide to take advantage of it. Please see the pinned message in "Discussions" for more information regarding this bug.
** As focus shifts from White Pearl to my next game, this bug may never be fully fixed.

- An issue wherein Kurone was not granted the "Emergency Healing" trait when she joins your party. This has been fixed.
- An issue wherein the buckler, "Buckler of Will", reduced MP by 150 instead of HP by 150. This has been fixed. If the effects do not take place by the time of the update, re-equip the item.
- An error wherein the HP of Gargoyle Guard was 500, not 7000.

Bug Workarounds
- The game crashes on the second to last boss in Falcon, in Chapter 1.
Details on overcoming this issue:
As of 10/10/2019, I have changed the order of commands in this code for the battle in order for the system to process it more effectively. However, there is still a chance that the game will crash. The issue is unknown as no information is provided to me in the form of error messages or debug messages. It is possible that it may be a memory issue, which is why I have changed the code. To reduce the chance of the game crashing at this battle, please close any overlays you have open - such as the Discord Overlay, or GeForce Experience overlay. It is possible that the game crashing may be related to this. It is strange, because sometimes the game crashes during the encounters in proper, too, and I've not been able to find a fix. As long as you make use of the cutscene skip function (LB/S), and keep entering the battle, there is a possibility that the game will not crash - as I've seen. Basically, it's a chance that the game will crash here, and it's possibly related to memory or screen overlay issues. If you have any more information or bug reports, don't hesitate to post them.
This could be an error related to the 2.0 patch, since I added a script which makes the game run more effectively -- it could mess with that code.
I'm sorry I'm not able to provide a fix, but you'll just have to keep entering the battle and hope it works!
Additional Bug Fixes
- The BGM at the second phase of the final battle was changed to play the correct music.
- The BGM at the battle when Alberio needs to kill the enemies to proceed was changed to play the correct music.
- The BGM of the Cerberus battle in Chapter 14 was changed to play the correct music, not continue the area/battle theme.
- The volume of the final battle music has been increased.
- Certain loops of music was not programmed correctly. It has been fixed so that the loop point is where it should be.

(Quick Feet -1 increased EVA by 5%).
- New effect added, "Firm Body", grants resistance to all Bleed effects.

UI
- Status menu revamped. The following changes have been made:
-> A fade-in black background;
-> Cleaner key cues for showing the "known states list";
-> Key cues for quickly switching to another character's information; Q/Select to move further down the list, W/Start to move further along.
New Content
- New sidequest and battle available from the Adventurer's Guild at Falcon once Elsay and Elrise join your party.
Rewards: Adventurer's Garments, G and EXP, little bit more backstory on Melvy & Pearlto, (nothing important story-wise)

- ATK increased from +3 to +10.

Bug Fixes
- An error wherein certain newly-installed Windows 10 clients were missing the font: "Kozuka Gothic Pr6N", used extensively in White Pearl's menus and dialogue. This update installs the font.
* If the font is not installed, please navigate to the game's Steam files, and select the "Fonts" folder.

- HP and MP growth of all characters have been adjusted. Values are now rounded up/down.
- Guest characters now gain 100% more EXP.
- Zhang now learn Aura Transfer (2.0 ability) at level 1.
- Elrise's HP growth has been rapidly increased. From level 31 to 41, he jumps from 1600 to 3500 HP. HP is increased no more after level 41, capped at a max of 3500 HP (previously a max of 2000 HP).
- Pearlto's HP growth has been slowed down rapidly from level 1-35, after which his HP grows much faster and he reaches a max of 9000 HP at level 50 (previously 6,650 HP).
- Alberio gains more HP more quickly, around level 20-mid 30s, from that point on, he is at 3k HP - and growth is stagnant.
Iron Bangle
- Increases HP by 15% instead of increasing HP by 150.
- Physical resistance effect reduced from 25% to 10%.
Iron Band
- Increases HP and MP by 6% instead of increasing HP by 100 and MP by 15.
- Physical and magic resistance reduced from 15% to 8%.
Mage's Bangle
- Increases MP by 30% instead of increasing MP by 50.
- Elemental resistance reduced from 25% to 10%.
Gameplay Additions
The rate at which battles proceed have been increased. Messages no longer halt the flow of Action Phase.
- Action tips for "target all foes" and more is rewritten to be more clear in the situation.
- Graphic number display and pop-ups in battle last for longer.
- Critical strikes now display as larger text and in italics.
- Less messages are shown in the pop-up window at the top of the battle screen.
Bug Fixes
- You can no longer die in the tutorial (why didn't I add that earlier...?)
- Fixed a game-breaking issue wherein you could bypass the "???" battle at the Ancarna Fortress by having a resistance to thunder, or high HP.
- Fixed an error wherein you could bypass the whole Lava Cavern traversal by entering with Elyswer, Elsay and Cassopeia, viewing the cutscene with Cass, then going into the main area - exiting out into the Underworld, and then interacting with the location again: from where you would having the ability to skip to the "Lucae Region" (this would be the other side of the Underworld)
- Fixed an game-breaking issue where you could interact with the location of the airship in the Underworld, go into the "Airship at Underworld" area, and not be able to leave (you cannot usually enter, which is why player contact was removed, but it appears you could press it and you will enter and not be able to leave...)
- Various other major game-breaking bugs fixed.
- Various spelling and grammar mistakes have been addressed.
New Content
- A quiz from Lauren is available in the New Falcon Port - Bazzar. Taking this quiz and getting all correct answers will yield great rewards. Two seperate quizzes are implemented in the game - the first one being available is early as possible, when you get to first get to Falcon Port (evacuated, so this would be in the Whispering Mansion location), but will be removed once you reach Chapter 9 (with the party of Iris and Zhang) in favour of the Level 2 Quiz in New Falcon Port.

- In addition to the 24/12/2019 update, this update on the 28th further reduces file size with changes to audio.
- Removal of the trait system from the Division of Worlds that was meant to be never added in the game as it was unfinished in the 2.0 update.
- Adjustment to playing BGM on certain scenes and battles.
- Adjustment to some dialogue in Chapter 9 that is reworded to be more clear and sensible.

Updated and created at the start of 2020 following the previous updates to the game which brought new programmers onto the project.
- Random encounters now enabled at Prevesta Cave and The Underground.
- Players now have the oppurtinity to buy and sell items at the final battle at the end of Chapter 6.

- Cleaner splash screen
- The item, String, dropped from Spiders can now be sold
* The tooltip of "String" has been changed to "Sell for money".
Previously, String was intended to be part of a weapon crafting system, but since it wasn't finished in time for release, I decided to just use it for something else.
- String has a price of 100G, meaning that it can be sold for 50G.
- Player graphic bug at opening fixed (minor)
- New music has been implemented at the lower level of the Great Library
- Various bugs also fixed

- Fixed the BGM played when you transfer to the lower level of the Great Library to match the new music implemented.
- Renamed the choice for "view synopsis" on the perspective select to "view backstory"
- Further adjustments have been made to the dialogue when first meeting Iris at Prevesta Forest
- An NPC's dialogue at Falcon Port has been adjusted
- Fixed a bug in Kolan where the sprites for Kurone and Elrise would appear near the entrance after a certain update
- [SO] Fixed battle BGM issues in Prevesta Cave following the recent implementation of random encounters in the area
- [SO] Removed some mobs from Prevesta Cave which conflicted with the ongoing narrative following the recent implementation of random encounters in the area

A skill obtained by Rowan and Elrise.
- MP restore effect increased from 5% to 40%.
- Additional effect of "Restores 20% of MaxHP has been added."
Sparkthrust
A skill obtained by Katkin.
- Potency increased from 190 to 230.
Heal II
A skill obtained by Elsay.
- Potency increased from 250 to 300.
- Some skill tooltips have been updated to specify how many turns they last for.
- The credits movie available from the title screen has been updated.
